Clinton Freudian Slip?

Today in Kentucky, HillRod said something that I found quite interesting:

“I’m going to make my case and I’m going to make it until I’m the nominee and we’re not going to have one today and we’re not going to have one tomorrow and we’re not going to have one the next day,” she said. “And if Kentucky turns out tomorrow, I will be closer to that nomination.” [nyt]

You’re going to make your case until you’re the nominee?  I guess we’ll be hearing her make her case for a long, looong time.  But wait, that sentence doesn’t even make much sense.  May I suggest that the scripted line she was supposed to read probably said something like:

“I’m going to make my case and I’m going to make it until there is a nominee and we’re not going to have one today and we’re not going to have one tomorrow and we’re not going to have one the next day,”

Now there’s a sentence that makes sense.  In the first sentence the “we’re not going to have one” part just doesn’t match up with “until I’m the nominee.”  Clearly she was supposed to say “until there is a nominee” but she is in such a deep state of denial that she actually still thinks she’s going to win.  If she really still thinks she’s going to win, we might be in a lot of trouble.  God help us, I hope her psychosis doesn’t wind up hurting the country…more so.

Did you see this running mate short list:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a8aZdQtitYJo

My dream pick for Obama would be Biden (who i’ve said since the start) or Bloomberg (Not Going to happen) Jim Webb would be interesting, former Navy aide to Reagan, now Dem senator from Virginia.

Thought you’d like this bit from wikipedia:
On November 28, 2006, at a White House reception for those newly elected to Congress, Webb declined to stand in the line to have his picture taken with the president, whom Webb often criticized during the campaign. The president approached Webb later and asked him, “How’s your boy?”, referring to Webb’s son, a Marine serving in Iraq. According to Congressman Jim Moran of Virginia, aides warned the President to be “extra sensitive about talking to Webb about his son, since Webb’s son has had a recent brush with death in Iraq.”[26] Webb replied “I’d like to get them out of Iraq, Mr. President.” Bush responded, “That’s not what I asked you. How’s your boy?” Webb responded, “That’s between me and my boy, Mr. President.” Webb was so angered by the exchange that he was reportedly tempted to “slug” the president and later remarked, “I’m not particularly interested in having a picture of me and George W. Bush on my wall.”

They don’t mention any retired generals, but I’d be surprised if they weren’t on his radar.

As for McCain, I’m betting its the guy from Minn.

    Thoughts?

Webb seems pretty cool. I’ve always been a wesley clark fan, nothing like a liberal General to prop up your foreign policy cred. He’s the perfect old, veteran, white guy to counter mccain. Too bad they didn’t mention him. On the other hand, maybe we want to keep the military out of government. bloomberg would be sweet but would he alienate more anti-semites than bring along jews? Obama is going to win new york anyway. I really don’t know, all I do know is that Hillary Clinton is the worst choice.
